Livestock producers will lead a recovery in U.S. agriculture the next two years as the broader economy improves and demand for beef, pork and dairy products increases, University of Missouri researchers told Congress today.

In some areas of the state much manure is being applied to crop fields
to allow for more storage space. Growers also may be concerned that a
wet spring will not leave enough time for later application.

The Aurora Cooperative plans to spend $11 million to expand the capacity of 3 of its railroad terminals in the state.
The grain co-op says improvements will be made in Grand Island, Aurora and Sedan, Nebraska over the next 18 months. The project will expand grain drying and storage capacity at the terminals.
